Crock Pot Recipe For Mulled Apple Cider

This Crock Pot recipe For Mulled Apple Cider comes with a twist – rather than using  traditional pumpkin pie spices, this mulled apple cider recipe uses Chinese five-spice powder. It takes a traditional fall and holiday beverage and takes it up a notch or two.

Another side benefit is the fabulous, warm aroma that will fill your entire home when you make it!

Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 3 hours – 7 hours
Serves: 4-6


½ gallon fresh apple cider
1 medium organic orange, sliced
½ c. fresh orange juice
3 whole cinnamon sticks
10-15 whole cloves
2 t. ground cinnamon
2 t. five-spice powder



Fresh orange slices
Whole cinnamon sticks


  • Slice the orange.
  • Add all of the ingredients to a crock pot and stir everything to combine.
  • Place the lid on the crock pot and cook on low for 6-7 or on high for 3-4. Before serving, remove and discard the cooked orange slices and cinnamon sticks.
  • Pour the warm cider into mugs and serve with fresh cinnamon sticks and orange slices.
