Buffalo Chicken Dip In The Crock Pot

This easy and flavorful Buffalo Chicken Dip In The Crock Pot is perfect for football parties or family game night. Just throw all the ingredients into your crock pot and set it and forget it! The tender chicken, hot sauce and cream cheese blend together into a creamy and delicious buffalo chicken dip. Start it around noon and it will be ready when you are.

It’s easy to increase or decrease the amount of spiciness by adjusting the amount of jalapenos and hot sauce used.

Serves: 6-8


2 lbs. skinless boneless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper
½ c. organic chicken broth
3 celery stalks
2 8-oz. packages of cream cheese
¾ c. Frank’s hot sauce (or any other brand)
1 jalapeno pepper
4 oz. crumbled blue cheese
1 c. finely shredded Mozzarella cheese
3 green onions (for garnish)
1 small jalapeno (for garnish)
2 oz. crumbled blue cheese (for garnish)

*Tip: You may want to add more chicken broth prior to serving if it’s really thick.



  • Finely chop the celery, mince the jalapeno pepper, and slice the green onion and jalapeno if using for garnish.
  • Sprinkle the chicken breasts with salt and pepper and add them along with the celery, chicken broth, cream cheese, hot sauce, jalapeno pepper, and the crumbled blue cheese to the crock of a 5 or 6-quart crock pot. Place the cover on it and cook either on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-7 hours.
  • A half hour prior to serving, remove the lid and shred the chicken with two forks. Add the shredded Mozzarella cheese and stir everything to combine. Replace the cover and continue cooking until the cheese is melted.
  • Remove the lid and sprinkle the dip with the 2 oz. of crumbled blue cheese, jalapeno pepper slices and sliced green onions. Use the warming function to keep dip warm.

Can I Make Buffalo Chicken Dip With Canned Chicken?

Yes! If you are pressed for time, by all means use canned chicken. Just remember that the canned chicken will have sodium and some liquid in the can, so adjust salt and broth accordingly. And since you don’t have to cook the chicken, just warm it up, the time it needs to be in the crockpot will be much less.
